Business valuations where we can help
We are experienced in providing independent valuation reports for a wide variety of commercial reasons, disputes, litigation or for various compensation purposes. These include disputed business purchase and sale agreements, earn outs, divorce cases, professional negligence cases, fraud investigations or insurance disputes. Our valuation experts have acted for businesses, individuals, their lawyers, insurers as well as for regulatory and prosecuting bodies.
A number of our experts are on the panel for appointment as experts by the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. These experts also accept nominations as independent experts to deal with disputes when given authority to do so. They can act as experts, valuers, mediators or advisors in disputes.
We have prepared expert reports for a wide variety of situations, including:

Case Study – business valuation
A team of shareholder-directors successfully grew a business over a number of years. It becomes increasingly apparent that one team member did not have the skills or determination to contribute to the continuing success and so was invited to negotiate terms for their departure.
The individual consulted a lawyer who recommends engaging Vero Consulting to value the business and the shares held. Our expert initially provided a list of information required for the valuation. Following a series of disclosures by the company and research into the appropriate basis for arriving at a fair value for the shares, our expert provided a report to assist with negotiations. In order to settle terms the lawyers suggest a mediation attended by company representatives, lawyers, clients and valuation experts. At the mediation our expert was able to explain and provide a basis for settlement, which was eventually accepted.
The mediation enabled the company to amicably pay fair compensation for the director’s past contribution and allowed the remaining shareholder-directors to return to the task of growing their successful business.
